Session 7: Wheel for Absolute Beginners!, Wednesday Mornings
Wednesday Mornings, 10 am-1 pm
Class Dates: October 22, 29; November 5, 12, 19; December 3, 10
Instructor: Bernadette Januska
Location: Wheel Studio 1
Skill Level: Beginner
No clay experience? No problem! In this beginning-level class, students will work through the complete cycle of making wheel thrown pottery, from shaping wet clay to glazing.
We’ll focus on developing the fundamental wheel throwing skills of wedging, centering clay on the wheel, use of tools to make basic shapes such as cups and bowls, and trimming, glazing and finishing techniques. Students will receive individual attention as skill progression is unique to each person.
Wear old clothes and bring a beginner's set of pottery tools to the first class—if you don’t have them, you can buy them at the first class.
Due to our Thanksgiving closure, this class will not meet on Wednesday, November 26th.
