Skill Level: Beginner
Please note: this class will not meet on Tuesday, November 24th due to Claymakers' Thanksgiving break.
Learn the basic techniques for creating ceramic sculpture! Students will follow group demonstrations and create a small sculpture of their own design during this class. Demonstrations will focus on the skills of sculpting from a solid block of clay, creating and constructing with clay slabs, using tools to shape and decorate forms, as well as simple glazing and finishing techniques.
Each student will receive individual attention each class session to help them achieve their desired result. For your first class, bring a beginner's set of pottery tools and an idea for a small sculpture, along with photographs and sketches to guide your work.
