Saturday Mornings, 10am - 1pm

Class Dates: June 6, 13, 20, 21, 27; July 11

No class Saturday, July 4th: makeup class on Sun., June 21, 10am-1 pm

Instructor: Charlie Evergreen

Location: Wheel Studio 1

Skill Level: Beginner

Please note: this class will NOT meet on Saturday, July 4th: instead, we’ll have an extra class meeting on Sunday, June 21st from 10 am-1 pm.

No clay experience? No problem! In this beginning-level class, students will work through the complete cycle of making wheel thrown pottery, from shaping wet clay to glazing. We’ll focus on developing the fundamental wheel throwing skills of wedging, centering clay on the wheel, use of tools to make basic shapes such as cups and bowls, and trimming, glazing and finishing techniques.

Students will receive individual attention as skill progression is unique to each person. Wear old clothes and bring a beginner's set of pottery tools to the first class—if you don’t have them, you can buy them at the first class.
