Wednesday Mornings, 10 am - 1 pm
Class Dates: June 3, 10, 17, 24; July 1, 8
Instructor: Evelyn Ward
Location: Wheel Studio 2
Skill Level: Intermediate, Advanced
In this wheel-based class, students will learn techniques which, used individually or in combination, can create a compelling surface design for functional work. Under Evelyn's guidance, students will create textures with stamps, sprigs and carving to add visual interest to their work.
Additionally, we'll learn how to maximize the potential of glazes by layering glazes, using slips and oxides, and experimenting with stencils and resist techniques. If time permits, we'll also try out low-tech methods for printing on clay, including monoprint transfers.
