Skill Level: Intermediate, Advanced

Got a critter taking shape in your imagination? Bring it to life in this multi-level sculpture class! Anna will guide you through designing and creating expressive animal forms, whether inspired by the natural world or your own imagination.

Through group demonstrations and individualized guidance, students will explore using a range of techniques, including sculpting from a solid block of clay, pinching, and working with slabs and coils. Along the way, you'll learn strategies for adding anatomical features such as eyes, noses, ears, mouths, paws, tails, feathers, scales--whatever details your critter demands.Students will also focus on designing for stability and structure, and how to employ surface textures and glaze finishes to bring their beasts to life.

Bring an idea, along with photographs or sketches to guide your work.
