Thursday Mornings, 10 am-1 pm
Class Dates: January 8, 15, 22, 29; February 5, 12, 19
Instructor: Liz Paley
Location: Wheel 1 Studio
Skill Level: Intermediate + Beyond
Making teapots involves assembling numerous elements into a single form and is a rewarding endeavor even for non-tea-drinkers. In this class, we'll consider aesthetic and functional relationships between bodies, lids, spouts, and handles. Combining wheelthrown and hand-built parts, we'll consider how to achieve spouts that pour smoothly, lids that fit, handles that feel good, and assembled forms that appeal to the eye. For those of us who love to make teapots but still make tea by the cup at home, we'll also spend some time considering teacups and mugs.
