One Day Clay: Exploring Underglaze Transfers, Friday, June 12th

$75.00

Friday, June 12th. 6:30-8:30pm

Instructor: Katherine Marting

Location: Sculpture + Handbuilding

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner and Beyond

Do crisp images, fun illustrations, and repeatable patterns interest you? Give commercial underglaze transfers a try! In this workshop you'll learn the ins and outs of underglaze transfers: where to get them, how to apply them to a variety of surfaces (both greenware and bisqueware), and tips to ensure success. Bring a few pieces in various states of finish (wet, leather hard, and bisqued) to experiment with. There will also be test pieces available to practice on.

The workshop fee covers one participant, ages 18+. This workshop does not include firing or glazing; if you are enrolled in a class and using your class clay, pieces can be fired as part of your class fee. If you are not enrolled in a class and want to fire pieces, we ask that you pay our standard firing rates. Basic tools will be provided for use, but you may bring any of your favorite tools or clay to use. This workshop is suitable for all students, after completing an introductory hand building or wheel throwing class.
