Session 6 : Continuing Wheel: Lidded Vessels, Thursday mornings
Continuing Wheel: Lidded Vessels (Session 6)
This throwing class focuses on creating a variety of lid styles for covered pots such as jars, boxes, and casseroles. Take on the physical and aesthetic challenges of matching lids to pots, and making a lid fit and work well with a pot’s overall function! Top off your pot with a domed, flanged, capped, or drop-in lid, and add a knob, strap handle, or hand-built finial. You will consider the lid’s seating, fit, and suitability, as well as the overall proportions and lines of the pot, and learn to plan for shrinkage and glazing concerns. This Intermediate/Advanced class is open to anyone with basic throwing experience.
Thursday mornings, 10:00 - 1:00
Session 6: September 6 - October 18 (Six week class, no class on 9/27)
