Session 4: Continuing Wheel: Up!, Thursday mornings
Continuing Wheel: Up!, Thursday mornings (Session 4)
Cylinders are the foundation for many wheel forms and certainly for all tall, narrow pieces. Students in this class will improve centering and pulling skills, and develop control of the clay while getting it off the wheel head! Through practice of centering and set-up, and emphasis on methods for gaining height while minimizing clay loss, students will build a solid foundation for a much wider range of throwing techniques and end products. Class projects will range from getting more height out of small amounts of clay to throwing in sections or to stacking thrown components. This class is intended for students who have taken at least one beginning wheel class.
