Session 4: Beginning Wheel, Thurs. pm
Continuing Wheel: Beginning Wheel
New students will work through the complete cycle of making wheel thrown pottery making in this class, from forming wet clay to glazing. Demonstrations will focus on the basic skills of wedging, centering clay on the wheel, use of throwing tools to form straightforward shapes such as cups and bowls, and trimming, glazing and finishing techniques. Students will receive individual attention as skill progression is unique to each person. Wear old clothes, and bring an old towel and a beginner's set of pottery tools to the first class.
