Session 1: Intermediate/Advanced Sculpture + Handbuilding , Thursday Mornings
Session 1: Intermediate/Advanced Sculpture + Handbuilding, Thursday Mornings
Skill Level: Intermediate + Beyond
This class is designed for students with previous clay experience who are interested in creating free-standing 3-D sculpture, relief wall pieces, or other handbuilt projects. Class demonstrations and discussions will be directed by students’ requests. If students don’t have a clear direction, we will work to refine ideas and move forward.
The class will address creating reliable structures and finding solutions to solving a variety of sculptural building challenges, as well as intentional design, content, and aesthetics. Students will work with and test studio materials in the process of developing individual finishing techniques.
Thursday Mornings, 10 am-1 pm
Class Dates: January 13, 20, 27; February 3, 10, 17, 24
Instructor: Charlie Evergreen
NOTE: Due to the recent surge in COVID cases, Claymakers has pushed back the start date for Session 1 2022 classes until we feel it is safer to hold in-person activities. If you sign up for classes, your class dates will vary from the original dates listed (day of week + time will remain the same). When Claymakers decides to move forward with classes, staff will contact registered students with a final set of class dates.
As of September 13, 2021, all students attending in-person classes must provide proof of a full course of COVID-19 vaccination + 14 days completion. Eligible unvaccinated individuals can apply for a medical exemption; if granted, they will need to supply a negative COVID test prior to each studio visit.
