Session 3: Continuing Wheel: Focus on Glazing, Tuesday Mornings
Have you gotten the hang of the wheel, but still struggle with glazing? In this wheel class with a glaze focus, we'll put the emphasis on glazing fundamentals!
As time allows, we will learn about different glaze application techniques, what tools are helpful in glazing, and a kiln's influence over our glazes. We'll also investigate: what are common glaze flaws and how can we work to avoid them? How can your glaze application flatter your piece's form?
In conjunction with glazing there will be time for wheel throwing practices and demos as needed. Beginners welcome!
Due to Claymakers' move, all work must be finished + ready for glaze firing by the end of the last class on November 17, and all clay, tools, and supplies must be taken home that day. We will not be able to offer further opportunities for finishing work. The last day for pickup of finished work will be Saturday, November 28. All work left after this time will be discarded.
Note: All students must follow Claymakers' COVID protocol and sign a COVID waiver.
Tuesday Mornings, 10:00 am-1:00 pm
