Looking for a fun, home-based activity for your child this fall? Join us in September for Parent-Child Handbuilding on Zoom! This class is appropriate for children ages 7 and up.
Instructor Amy Irish will lead kids and their parents in 3 age-appropriate handbuilding projects; a final lesson will teach glazing and decorating techniques. After classes, parents will bring finished projects to Claymakers, where they will be clear glazed, fired, and ready for pickup in about a week!
Each class will last 1 hour. Participants will be sent a link to a recording of this class within 48 hours; the video will be available for viewing or download for one week after the class.
Minimum class size is 4 parent-child pairs. Due to our payment processing system, we will be unable to offer refunds for classes that do not meet the minimum, but would be happy to credit the amount to store credit or for future Zoom/in-person classes.

- Access to 4 1-hour Zoom lessons for 2 parents and 2 children
- Recording of Zoom lessons (viewable/downloadable up to 1 week afterward)
- 6 pounds of clay for each participant (24 pounds total)
- 2 8-piece pottery toolkits
- 4 colors of underglaze and brushes
- Clear glazing and firing of all class projects for parents and children
Notes:
- This class will be taught on the video conference app, Zoom. You will be sent an email containing links to all 4 class meetings—please keep track of it.. Please join the class meeting 5 minutes before start time in case of technical/audiovisual difficulties. Your instructor do their best to watch for students who enter the class meeting late, but as they will be leading the class, it may take a few minutes.
- Registration fee only includes the glazing and firing of class projects; glazing and firing of additional creations can be purchased when you drop off your pieces for a nominal rate.
- We will give each family a code to write on the bottom of their pieces; this will help us track your pieces as they move through the studio.
