Session 6:Beginning Sculpture: Narrative Clay, Tuesday Evenings
Learn to use clay to tell a story! In this all-levels class, students will learn to use form, text, images, and installation environment to communicate their own narratives and ideas through sculpture and on vessels. Students will use coil and slab construction to create compelling three-dimensional forms, and will work to use figurative gesture and facial expression to communicate emotions.
Mac will also teach students how to sculpt with a solid block of clay. Students will learn to hollow sculpture, as well as how to create environments for narrative work. Image transfer, carving, surface treatment, and glazing will also be covered.
